2012 Spring CSA Week 1
Lots of good green stuff this week; salad mix, arugula (very strong!), spinach, mixed asian greens, french sorrel, and chives.
I'll be cooking up in the barn kitchen from 4:00 on...sorrel risotto and pasta with chive pesto.
The sorrel is easy. Cut the sorrel into 1/2" slices. Make your risotto as you normally would. As you near the end and the risotto is about ready, toss in the sorrel. Stir into the risotto and finish cooking--won't need more then 3 or 4 minutes. Simple and delicious!
Here's a recipe for the chive pesto. Just had it tonight. Excellent!!!! Strong!!!!
