2012 Spring CSA Week 1

Lots of good green stuff this week; salad mix, arugula (very strong!), spinach, mixed asian greens, french sorrel, and chives. I'll be cooking up in the barn kitchen from 4:00 on...sorrel risotto and pasta with chive pesto. The sorrel is easy. Cut the sorrel into 1/2" slices. Make your risotto as you normally would. As you near the end and the risotto is about ready, toss in the sorrel. Stir into the risotto and finish cooking--won't need more then 3 or 4 minutes. Simple and delicious! Spinach, lettuces, arugula, chives, sorrel--these should all be ready for the first CSA pickup on April 26!!!

We've been watering, watering, watering, watering...

More than we have ever had to do in March and April. Ever. And we've been growing things for 25 years.

We have a good well.
